Our Commitment to Quality
At Cibarious, we believe that food knowledge deserves the same rigor and care as any other form of scholarship. This editorial policy explains how we create, review, and maintain our content to ensure it meets the highest standards of accuracy, usefulness, and transparency.
Editorial Team & Leadership
Francesco Paolo Maria Di Salvia, Founder & Editor-in-Chief
Cibarious was created and is led by Francesco Paolo Maria Di Salvia, an Italian novelist, screenwriter, and content strategist with a unique background that bridges narrative storytelling and structured data architecture.
Francesco was born in Salerno in 1982 and studied arts and sciences of performing arts at the University of Rome "La Sapienza," writing a dissertation on Dissipatio H.G. by Guido Morselli. He later graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Italy's national film school. He worked for many years as a producer, writer, and director in the Italian cinema and TV industry.
As a writer, he debuted at 19 with award-winning short stories, winning the Italian National Olympic Committee's Sports Short Story of the Year Award and the Subway Literature Award, both in 2002.
Francesco represents a unique confluence of skills: a trained storyteller with deep experience in narrative construction, combined with a passion for semantic web technologies and structured knowledge systems. This intersection of content creation and data architecture is what makes Cibarious possible: transforming cold culinary databases into engaging, useful narratives while maintaining the precision and interconnectedness of structured data.
His vision for Cibarious emerged from frustration with shallow, SEO-driven food content and a belief that ingredients deserve to be presented as both precise data points and compelling stories.
Our Content Creation Process
1. Research & Data Collection
Every ingredient entry begins with comprehensive research:
- Primary Sources: Academic papers, agricultural databases, culinary encyclopedias, and government food safety resources
- Structured Data: We build a detailed JSON schema for each ingredient including taxonomy, seasonality, storage requirements, flavor profiles, and nutritional data
- Cultural Context: Regional preparation methods, historical significance, and traditional uses
2. AI-Assisted Content Generation
We use advanced language models (including GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Kimi) to synthesize research into coherent narratives. This AI assistance allows us to:- Process multiple authoritative sources simultaneously
- Identify patterns and connections across ingredients
- Generate comprehensive first drafts more efficiently than traditional writing
- Maintain consistency across 2,500+ ingredient entries
